Hervey Bay is located approximately 300 kilometres north of Brisbane. Bordered by 40 kilometres of pristine beaches it offers visitors access to islands and adventure in a beautiful safe aquatic playground.
Hervey Bay City, boasts one of the fastest growing populations in Australia and is renowned for Whale Watching (August – November annually) and as the gateway to World Heritage listed Fraser Island. We offer a range of guided tours and day trips to Fraser Island. Please click here for the latest information on our Fraser Island package deals, click here.
The beach esplanade of the City offers 14 kilometres of shared pedestrian, wheelchair and bicycle pathways and there are plenty of places to hire bikes and scooters. Along the length of the esplanade there are oodles of spots perfect for picnics and barbecues, as well as children’s play areas, and public shower / toilet facilities. The sheltered beaches of Hervey Bay are protected by Fraser Island and offer visitors a perfect swimming and fishing environment with no nasties and unfortunately no surf (very child friendly).
