Rainbow Beach is a laid back coastal village located in the northern part of the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia approximately 265 kilometres north of Brisbane, 76 kilometres east of Gympie and 700 metres west of Fraser Island.
The seaside town is Famous for its coloured sands with over 74 different colours to be seen on sandy cliffs along a 1 kilometre stretch of beach. It’s also surrounded by the Great Sandy National Park and adjacent to Fraser Island National Park.
This sub-tropical coastal area offers a lot for holiday makers including surf beaches and bush walks. It’s also home to the Carlo Sandblow and you can feed wild dolphins just down the road at Tin Can Bay when they drop in. Also make sure you drop into the new Rainbow Beach hotel for a counter meal or a cold one at the end of the day.
